In this Bible Bit we simply show short passages where Jesus quotes from Moses’ book of Deuteronomy.
There is quite a lot to be said about these, but we’ll leave this for other Bits, and let you simply read the word of God and ponder the beauty of Christ’s Old Testament in the New.

Matthew 4:4 & Deuteronomy 8:3
Matt 4:4 But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of God’s mouth.’”
Deut 8:3 He humbled you, allowed you to be hungry, and fed you with manna, which you didn’t know, neither did your fathers know, that he might teach you that man does not live by bread only, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of Yahweh’s mouth.
